We were contracted for a premium lawn installation for a large property. The objective was to transform a completely stripped site into a pristine, perfectly level, and resilient lawn capable of being maintained by automated robotic mowers at a low cutting height.
Through a combination of meticulous ground preparation, specialist machinery, and high-specification materials, we delivered an exceptional result within a rapid timeframe.
Ground Preparation
Soil & Drainage: The original soil was completely stripped, drainage was added, and 600 tonnes of new topsoil and compost was brought in. This part was done by another contractor under our direct supervision.
Ground Prep: We prepped the ground utilising our specialised equipment to achieve a perfectly level surface. This involved cultivating, harrowing, levelling, and compacting the ground in layers.
Seeding
The Process: The entire area was drilled using our black cultipac seeder in just over an hour.
The Machinery: The seeder's design completely eliminates the risk of wheel marks and allows for highly accurate sowing over two passes.
Materials & Spec: We utilised very high-quality grass seed and a pre-seed fertiliser as per the designer's specification, resulting in a final sowing rate of 65g per mยฒ.
Results & Maintenance
Four-Week Turnaround: The "after" photos were taken just four weeks after drilling, which is a testament to our processes, equipment, and knowledge.
First Cuts: We performed the first few cuts utilising our roller mowers to create a perfect stripe and ensure any small stones were pressed safely back into the soil.
Robot Mowers: This thorough preparation cleared the way for the client's robot mowers to successfully take over and safely reduce the final cutting height down to 15mm.
